τρίμετρος [ῐ], ον, of verses,
A). consisting of three μέτρα; i. e. in iambics, trochaics, and anapaestics, of three συζυγίαι (of two feet each); but in dactylics, etc., of three single feet: hence the iambic verse of six feet is called by the Greeks ἴαμβος τρίμετρος, ; so 1.12 τόνος τ. trimeter verse, ib. 174 ; ἔπη τ. Lg. 810e ; τρίμετρον, Nu. 642 , Po. 1447b11 (pl.).
