τρίγληνος, ον, in as epith. of ear-rings,
A). ἕρματα τρίγληνα , 14.183 : ancient critics (cf. Sch. ad loc.) expld. it ( 18.298 1 ) from γλήνεα ( ), = 24.192 ἀξιοθέατα , or ( 2 ) = τρίκοκκα , i. e. with three berry-shaped ornaments, or ( 3 ) = ἐκ τριῶν ζῳδίων συγκείμενα , or ( 4 ) = τριόφθαλμα , like Att. τριοττίδες; and in other ways. It is prob. formed from γλήνη as τρίκλινος fr. κλίνη, etc., but the sense remains uncertain.
