A). daughter of T., i.e. Niobe, APl. 4.134 ( ), cf. 131 (Antip.). (Derived by from ταλάντατος in reference to his endurance of torment, or from ταλαντεία (τανταλεία codd.) in reference to the story of the rock balanced and tottering over his head, Cra. 395e ; by others from his proverbial wealth, τὰ Ταντάλου τάλαντ’ ἐκεῖνα ; cf. 301.6 τανταλίζω.)
