tūrĭfĭco, āvi, 1, v. n. tus-facio, to burn incense, offer incense (eccl. Lat.), Aug. Ep. 87, 2.—Hence, subst.: tūrĭfĭcātus (thūr-), i, m., one that offers incense (to the gods), a term applied to those Christians who sacrificed to the heathen gods in time of persecution, Cyprian. Ep. 55.
