Tŏmis, is, f., or Tŏmi, ōrum, m., = Τόμις or Τόμοι, a town of Mœsia, on the Pontus Euxinus, famous as the place to which Ovid was banished.—Form Tomis, Ov. P. 4, 14, 59; id. Tr. 3, 9, 33.—Form Tŏmi, ōrum, m., Stat. S. 1, 2, 254; Claud. Epith. Pall. et Celer. 70; Sid.
