          Plisthĕnes, is, m., = Πλεισθένης.  The son of Pelops, brother of Atreus and Thyestes, and the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus, who were brought up by his brother Atreus (whence they are called Atridae), Serv. Verg. A. 1, 458; acc. to others, the son of Atreus, Hyg. Fab. 86 and 97.—Hence,  Plisthĕnĭdes, ae, m., = Πλεισθενίδης, a male descendant of Plisthenes, a Plisthenide: felix Plisthenide, i. e. Menelaus, Sabin. Ep. 1, 107.— Plisthĕ-nĭus, a, um, adj., of or belonging to Plisthenes, Plisthenian: Plisthenius torus, i. e. of Agamemnon, Ov. R. Am. 778.— The son of Thyestes, Sen.
