pĕr-ăgĭto, āvi, ātum, 1, v. a., to drive or hunt about greatly, to harass, disturb (not in Cic.). Lit. In gen.: vehementius peragitati ab equitatu, Caes. B. C. 1, 80: Aetna majore vi peragitata, Sen. Ben. 3, 37.— In partic., to stir up any thing, esp. a liquid: ut permisceatur medicamen rutabulo ligneo peragitare conveniet, Col. 12, 24, 4: mustum, id. 12, 19, 4.— Trop., to excite, impel: animos, Sen.
