Pălīlis, e, adj. Pales, of or belonging to Pales: flamma Palilis, a fire of straw and hay, over which the rustics leaped at the feast of Pales, Ov. F. 4, 798: festa Palilia, id. M. 14, 774; Tib. 2, 5, 87.—Also as subst.: Pălīlĭa, ĭum (euphon. collat. form Părīlĭa, Varr. R. R. 2, 1, 9; Col. 7, 3, 11; Plin. 19, 5, 24, § 69 et saep.; cf. Prob. ad Verg.
