Oenōtrĭa, ae, f., = Οἰνωτρία. Lit., the extreme south-eastern part of Italy, in the oldest geography of that country (afterwards the territory of the Bruttians and Lucanians): Oenotria dicta est vel a vino optimo, quod in Italiā nascitur, vel ut Varro dicit ab Oenotro rege Sabinorum.
