mordĭcĭtus, adv. a lengthened form for 1. mordicus, with the teeth (ante- and post-class.): asini me mordicitus scindant, Plaut. Aul. 2, 2, 57 dub. (al. mordicibus, from obsol. mordex, a bite; al. mordicus; Non. 139, 30, has mordicibus, where mordicitus is the more correct reading): mordicitus appetens (al. mordicibus), App. M. 3, p. 140, 23.
