mŏnētālis, e, adj. moneta, of or belonging to the mint; minted, coined (class.): triumviri monetales, the directors of the mint, Dig. 1, 2, 2, § 30.—In jest of one who asks for money: monetali ascripsi, quod ille ad me pro consule, the money-man, Cic. Att. 10, 11, 5: aurum, coined, App. M. 7, p. 190, 21: pes monetalis, the Roman foot (because the standard was kept in the temple of Juno Moneta), Grom. Vet. p. 128, 2 sq.
