Urb. 4, 1. Form Mediolanium, Liv. 5, 34, 9; 34, 46, 1; Suet. Aug. 20.—Hence, Mĕdĭōlā-nensis, e, adj., of or belonging to Milan, Milanese: (ager), Varr. R. R. 1, 8: praeco, Cic. Pis. 26, 62.—In plur.: Mĕdĭōlānen-ses, ĭum, m., the Milanese, Varr. R. R. 1, 8, 2. — The chief city of the Santoni in Gaul, on the river Carantonus, now Saintes, Amm. 15, 11, 12; Itin. Anton. p. 459, 3.
