Ismărus, i, m., or Ismăra, ōrum, n., = Ἴσμαρος, a mountain on the southern coast of Thrace: Ismara propter, Lucr. 5, 31: juvat Ismara Baccho conserere, Verg. G. 2, 37; Stat. Th. 7, 685.—Form Ismarus: Rhodope miratur et Ismarus Orphea, Verg. E. 6, 30.— Transf., the city at the foot of the mountain, and the territory belonging to it: quos Idas pater, et patria Ismara mittit, Verg.
