Hippŏdămē, ēs, and Hippŏdămīa or -mēa, ae, f., = Ἱπποδάμη or Ἱπποδάμεια. Daughter of Œnomaüs, king of Elis; she became the wife of Pelops, who won her in a race with her father, Enn. ap. Cic. Tusc. 3, 12, 26 (Trag. v. 398 Vahl.); Prop. 1, 2, 20; 1, 8, 35; Ov. H. 8, 70; Verg. G. 3, 7 Serv.; Hyg.
