Gĕla, ae, f., = Γέλα, a city on the southern coast of Sicily, at first called Lindos, and afterwards Gela, from the River Gela or Gelas, on which it stood, now Terranova (acc. to others Alicata), Plin. 31, 7, 39, § 73; 31, 7, 41, § 86; Verg.
