Dĭdўmē, ēs, f. An island near Sicily, Plin. 3, 9, 14, § 94; Mel. 2, 7, 18; Ov. F. 4, 475.— An island in the Aegaean Sea, Ov. M. 7, 469.— A city in Ionia (also called Dĭdўma, Δίδυμα), in the Milesian territory, now Jeronda or Joran, with a temple and oracle of Apollo, called Dĭdў-mēon, i, n., Διδυμεῖον, Curt. 7, 5, 28; cf. Mütz. and Zumpt, ad h. l.—Hence also, Dĭdўmeus (trisyl.), ei, m., = Διδυμεύς, the Didymean, i. e. Apollo, Mel. 1, 17, 1.
