Aenēis, ĭdis or ĭdos, f. Aeneas, the Æneid, Virgil's celebrated epic, the hero of which is Æneas, the progenitor of the Romans: Aeneïdos auctor, Ov. Tr. 2, 533: nec tu divinam Aeneïda tenta, Stat.
