  "definition": "πρόδομος -ου, ὁ [προ- 2 + δόμος.] A space in front of the door of the μέγαρον, app. the part of the line of the αἴθουσα into which the door opened: εὗρεν ἐνὶ προδόμῳ δέπα Od. 15.466. Cf. Il. 9.473 (see θάλαμος 1.a). Used as a sleeping-place for visitors Il. 24.673 (Priam and the herald in Achilles's dwelling):=Od. 4.302 (Telemachus and Pisistratus in Menelaus's house) (cf. Il. 24.644:=Od. 4.297). Cf. Od. 15.5, Od. 20.1 (the disguised Odysseus in his own house), 143 (the same in the same). A space in front of the door of the dwelling of Eumaeus Od. 14.5.",
