  "definition": "ἴκρια τά. Locative ἰκριόφιν Od. 3.353, Od. 13.74, Od. 15.283. This form as ablative Od. 12.414, Od. 15.552. Each of two platforms, one in the forward, and the other in the after part of a ship, the first prob. having the mast passing through it, and the second being the post of the steersman. 1 The forward one: εἰς ἴκρια νηὸς ἔβαινον πρῴρης Od. 12.229. 2 The after: λίπε δʼ ἴκρια νηός Il. 15.729 (the ships were drawn up stern first): κυβερνήτης κάππεσʼ ἀπʼ ἰκριόφιν Od. 12.414. In this sense in reference to several ships: νηῶν ἴκριʼ ἐπῴχετο Il. 15.676. Cf. Il. 15.685. Doubtless the reference is also to the after platform in the following passages Od. 3.353, Od. 13.74, Od. 15.283, 552. 3 Of a similar contrivance on the σχεδίη of Odysseus Od. 5.163, 252.",
