δρύπτω (ἀπο-, περι-) To tear away or strip off: ἀπό κε ῥινοὺς δρύφθη (would have had his skin stripped off) Od. 5.426. Cf. Il. 16.324. In mid. of reciprocal action Od. 2.153 (tearing each other's . . .).
