Applied to a mode of existence or action imposed from without: δμώων Od. 14.59. Cf. Od. 11.218. Something that always happens in specified circumstances Od. 19.168. 2 Right, justice Il. 16.388, Il. 19.180: Od. 14.84. In pl., rules of right, principles of justice: οὐ δίκας εἰδότα οὐδὲ θέμιστας (having no regard for justice or the usages of (civilized) men; see εἴδω III.12) Od. 9.215. Cf. Od. 3.244. 3 A judgement or doom: ὃς λυκίην εἴρυτο δίκῃσιν (by his (impartial) administration of justice) Il. 16.542. Cf.
