αἰγίλιψ -ιπος [sense unknown. Traditionally explained as fr. αἰγ-, αἴξ + λιπ-, λείπω, so steep as to be deserted (even) by goats.] Of a rock: πέτρης Il. 9.15 = Il. 16.4, Il. 13.63.
