εὔνους -ουν [νοῦς, mind], well disposed, friendly. εὔξεινος, -ον ξεῖνος, Ionic form of ξένος, stranger], good to strangers, hospitable, applied as a proper name (Euxine) to the Black Sea, to avoid the bad omen in its earlier name Ἄξεινος, inhospitable.
