Lofty and leafy (the second element being equivalent to a separate epithet; cf. οἰόζωνος Soph. O. T. 846, alone and girt up, journeying alone, πυκνόπτερος O. C. 17, many and winged. Cf. ὑψιπέτηλος?̓ · δρυσίν Il. 14.398. Cf. Il. 23.118 : αὐλὴ δέδμητο δρυσὶν ὑψικόμοισιν Od. 9.186 (the second element here obscured, the reference being only to the length of the pieces of timber), δρυός Od. 12.357 (here referring especially to the wealth of foliage). Cf. Od. 14.328= Od. 19.297.
