To keep an eye on something, watch : ἐπὶ δʼ ἀνὴρ ἐσθλὸς ὀρώρει (superintended the work) Il. 23.112 : ἐπὶ δʼ ἀνέρες ἐσθλοὶ ὄροντο (did watchful service) Od. 3.471, ἐπὶ δʼ ἀνέρες ἐσθλοὶ ὄρονται (tend the flocks) Od. 14.104.
