(or aor.; see ἕζομαι). 1 To sit down, seat oneself, take one's seat: πάροιθʼ αὐτοῖο καθέζετο Il. 1.360. Cf. Il. 1.405, Il. 9.570, Il. 11.81, Il. 15.100, Il. 20.136, etc.: ἔνθα καθεζόμενος Od. 6.295.
