ἀτέμβω

ἀτέμβω

ἀτέμβω 1 To wrong, treat improperly or with injustice: θυμὸν Ἀχαιῶν (plays or trifles with . . .) Od. 2.90. Cf. Od. 20.294, Od. 21.312. 2 With genit., to debar from (one's due): ἴσης Il. 11.705: Od. 9.42 = 549. To deprive of: ἀτέμβονται νεότητος (have been robbed (by age) of their youthful vigour) Il. 23.445.–ἀτεμβόμενος σιδήρου, app., lacking Il. 23.834.

δίκαιος

δίκαιος [δίκη.] 1 Conforming to the traditional order of society, observing the usages common to civilized men, civilized Od. 6.120 = Od. 9.175 = Od. 13.201, Od. 8.575. ἶσος

ἶσος -η, -ον (ϝῖσος) Also (always in fem. and only in senses 1.a and 5) with prothetic ἔῑσος -η, -ον (ἔϝισος). 1 a Equal in height: [ἵππους] ἐΐσας Il. 2.765. b Even, in line: ἴσας ὑσμίνη κεφαλὰς ἔχεν Il. 11.72. c The same in amount or value, equal: ἴσην βίην καὶ κῦδος Il. 7.205.
