πύματος -η, -ον. 1 Of position, the last, the hindmost : φάλαγγας Il. 4.254. Absol. in pl., those in the rear, the rear rank : ἐν πυμάτοισι κελεύων Il. 11.65. 2 That is at the extremity of something : ἄντυξ ἣ πυμάτη θέεν ἀσπίδος (at its edge) Il. 6.118.
