τιμάω [τιμή.] 1 To hold in or treat with honour, regard or esteem, show or pay honour to, honour : ἄλλοι, οἵ κέ με τιμήσουσιν Il. 1.175, τιμῆς ἧς τέ μʼ ἔοικε τετιμῆσθαι Il. 23.649 (ἧς app. genit. of price, the degree of honour in the measure of which I should be esteemed, the honour which is my due). Cf.
