πορφύρεος -η, -ον [cf. πορφύρω.] 1 Of disturbed water, gleaming, glancing : πορφύρεον κῦμα ποταμοῖο Il. 21.326, ἀμφὶ κῦμα στείρῃ πορφύρεον μεγάλʼ ἴαχεν (flashing as it fell off on each side of the cutwater) Il. 1.482 := Od. 2.428.
