ἕρκος τό. 1 a A fence or enclosing wall: ἕρκεα ἀλωάων Il. 5.90. Cf. Il. 18.564: ἕρκεος αὐλῆς Od. 22.442 = 459. Cf. Od. 7.113, Od. 24.224.–ἕρκος ὀδόντων, the(double) row formed by the teeth (as we should say, the lips or the mouth): ἐπεί κε [ψυχὴ] ἀμείψεται ἑ. ὀδόντων Il. 9.409, ποῖόν σε ἔπος φύγεν ἑ. ὀδόντων; Il. 4.350 = Il. 14.83: Od. 1.64 = Od. 5.22 = Od. 19.492 = Od. 23.70, Od. 3.230, Od. 21.168.
