Ὄσσα A mountain in Magnesia between Olympus and Pelion. See Od. 11.315 under Πήλιον .
Πήλιον (εἰνοσίφυλλον). A mountain in Magnesia, southeast of Ossa. The Centaurs driven from it by Peirithous Il. 2.744 (cf. Od. 21.295-304); Il. 2.757 ; the spear of Achilles came thence Il. 16.144, Il. 19.391: the threat of Otus-1 and Ephialtes to pile Ossa on Olympus and Pelion on Ossa Od. 11.315.
Ὦτος-1 (ἀντίθεος). Son of Poseidon (nominally of Aloeus) and Iphimedeia. With his brother Ephialtes imprisoned Ares in a jar Il. 5.385: the size and beauty of the brothers Od. 11.308, they threaten to pile Ossa on Olympus and Pelion on Ossa 315.
