To yield to law and to a magistrate and to him who is wiser than yourself, is becoming. The things which are done contrary to law are the same as things which are not done. In prosperity it is very easy to find a friend; but in adversity it is most difficult of all things. Time relieves the foolish from sorrow, but reason relieves the wise. He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.
